ProgressiveBeats Podcast featured on iTunes “New and Noteworthy”

I’d noticed that the bandwidth for my podcast was being rapidly used up over the last week, and I was wondering why the number of downloads was suddenly rocketing…. So, after trawling the web a bit this morning I happened to look at iTunes and much to my amazement the ProgressiveBeats Podcast is featured in the “New and Noteworthy” section (they don’t send you an email or anything to tell you), one of only 20 music podcasts listed there at the moment! That’s incredible :-), no wonder its using over 2Gig of bandwith per day!!

Thanks to everyone who has downloaded it so far. I’m working on another episode at the moment and I’ll be updating this site with lots of lovely content over the coming weeks. Stay tuned!

So I checked today and it’s no longer in the “New and Noteworthy” section, but looking at my hosting stats it’s been there for about a week so I can’t complain. I was beginning to wonder if I was going to exceed my bandwidth allowance, yesterday alone it used 3.65GB which is huge! The podcast is number 31 in Jellycast’s (my host) chart chart and considering that is the company who hosted Ricky Gervais’ podcast, and who have some other big podcasts currently, I’m pretty pleased. Thanks again for your support.

It seems I spoke too soon! The podcast is back in the “New and Noteworthy” section…. as I am shortly about to run out of bandwidth if I continue to use the amount I have been, I have decided to reduce the quality of the MP3 from 320kbps to 96kbps (and therefore reduce the file size). What I’ll do is include a download link from this site to the original 320kbps file for the audiophiles amongst us. Hopefully that means that as many people as possible can still enjoy the podcast :-)

At the moment, both existing podcast episodes seem to be off-line on iTunes. I presume this is whilst it updates itself. I have submitted the two lower quality versions so I’m hoping that they’ll be up soon.
